Went to See the Pottery at A' Ali

Today we went to the A' Ali pottery shops.  They have been making pottery here for thousands of years.  They've modernized a little bit by adding LP gas burners in the kilns but shapes and designs are the same as those thrown by potters centuries ago.

These pots seem to be poised for going into the kiln next:


Outside Delmon Pottery, you can kind of see a burial mound behind me.  They actually used the mounds as kilns in the olden times.  



Here's one of the burial mounds right by the sidewalk, the brown sign basically says it against the law to take any dirt from the mound, it seems like the sign gets ignored:



Here is a mosque that's right across the street from the burial mound above.  This is the most colorful mosque I've seen:



Last but not least, I unrolled the carpets that I bought the other day.  These are Pakistani wool and silk rugs:
